Ken Roczen has explained the improvements in his starts recently thanks to a better clutch set up thay has allowed the in-form German to start up front more consistently.
Roczen told Lewis Phillip: “It’s a lot better than it has been, you know, you can always still mess up a start, but I think we’re a little bit more in control of our destiny on this one, so I’ve been really happy we found the setting before Detroit and just left it alone ever since.
“It’s much better, it’s just one less worry to worry about and we’re able to just focus on ourselves and execute, you know, and once you find our clutch setup that you like, it still takes a bit of time to getting used to, you know what I mean? So, the more starts we do, the more dialed we get and then there’s more room for, you know, you can just, even a bad start is usually like a pretty decent start, so it helps out a lot, especially since the starts have been so important.”
With 5 points separating Roczen from Hunter Lawrence and Eli Tomac and 450 Supercross points lead with five rounds to go, Roczen looks to have found the key to jerping himself up front in a championship of small margins and very little room for error with a title on the line.
