RacerX Online are reporting that Jorge Prado’s shoulder injury, caused, unbelievably, by grabbing unto the nets at A2, may require surgery.
Jorge had said the shoulder was only out of place for 30 seconds and that he felt pretty good later that day, but he did acknowledge in a recent post overnight that things seem more complicated due to previous injuries:
“In 2022 I suffered a very serious shoulder injury in the middle of the season, last week I caught the net in Anaheim and it seems to have complicated the situation. Will not be able to race in Glendale this weekend”.
Now RacerX have added to that on Instagram:
“Jorge Prado (Shoulder) Out for Glendale Supercross Kawasaki racing posted on its social media account last night that Jorge Prado, who suffered a dislocated shoulder in qualifying at Anaheim 2, is out for this weekend’s Glendale Supercross. Missing one race is not a huge surprise considering the injury, but a bigger question is, how long will it be before he actually returns to the track? RacerX has heard from sources that Prado may now need surgery on the shoulder, and if that’s the case his return will certainly be delayed quite a bit .”
It means the worst case scenario for Jorge indoors, after he had been riding well at the opening two rounds and doing it risk free, but those vital race laps and rounds that he needed for experience are now going to be missed. The second question is, will this even affect his outdoor preparation?
It hasn’t been an easy start for the unlucky Prado in the States after a broken finger, then a concussion thwarted his chances of getting full off-season in and now potential shoulder surgery after an injury at round three.
Let’s hope the injuries go away and he can show his full potential in America.
