Phil Nicoletti on Jorge Prado and the Kawasaki

Phil Nicoletti, now riding a Kawasaki in Canada, has given his thoughts on the difference between his Yanaha from last year and the Kawasaki he is on in 2025.

And from what Phil says, the stock bike is the total opposite of the type of machine Prado loves which is a powerful engine and lots of bottom end.

Nicoletti, who is in contention for the Canadian title, but spends time at Club MX with Prado, told the PulpMX show: “I’ll probably get in trouble once again on the PulpMX show. I can’t compare what I’m running to Jorge. He’s on a completely different package, my bike is much more production based. But I just compare my bike to a Yamaha and yes, the Kawi for me is much softer on the bottom and mid compared to my Yamaha in the past. I like bottom and mid, up top kind of, for me, struggles a little bit,  but that’s just me. But again, if if I had to go race in the US right now on my current stuff, I would actually really have a hard time.”

Prado of course is on the factory bike but if the base is so far away from his ideal set-up it may explain just why he is struggling so much to shoe his real speed.
