Liam Everts has been absent from the MXGP paddock since a heavy crash in the qualifying race at the Grand Prix of Finland. The Belgian was putting in a superb ride at the front when his foot slipped off the peg, resulting in a nasty fall that left him sidelined.

The incident left Everts with a sacral fracture, forcing him into a recovery period that saw him miss his home GP at Lommel – a bitter blow for both rider and fans.

The good news for Everts and his supporters is that he’s now back on the bike and will make his return to racing this weekend in Sweden. The Nestaan Husqvarna rider will be eager to find his form quickly and finish the season on a strong note.

With the Belgian MXoN team still to be selected, Everts will be hoping to make a strong case for inclusion. There’s also his own personal goal of competing at the prestigious Ironman event in October – and this weekend in Uddevalla marks the first step in getting back to full speed.
