Official: From China to Europe – Jinyu Yang joins KTM SB Racing

The KTM SB Racing team have made a notable addition to their 2026 programme, expanding beyond their sole focus on Jens Walvoort in the MX2 World Championship by bringing a second rider into their setup.

So far this season, the team had concentrated fully on Walvoort as he continues to make good progress racing the MX2 World Championship but that changed in Sardinia. The KTM SB Racing team also fielded a rider in the highly competitive EMX125 Championship.

In a move that marks a significant milestone, the team have signed young Chinese talent Jinyu Yang. Yang will make history as the first rider from China to compete in the EMX125 series, underlining both the global growth of the sport and the opportunities now emerging for riders from new regions.

The challenge ahead will be far from easy, with the EMX125 class renowned for its depth and intensity. For Yang, the immediate objective will be to qualify for the races and gain valuable experience, with a clear focus on learning and developing throughout the season. On his EMX125 debut he didn’t manage to qualify but he now knows what to expect for the future rounds.

It’s an exciting step not only for Yang personally, but also for motocross as a whole, as he makes the move from China to Europe to test himself against some of the best young talent in the sport.

Jinyu Yang:

The riders here are very fast. The competition here is not only for practice, but also to realize the gap between yourself and other riders.  The track in Sardinia is difficult and the sand will be more difficult for me than the hard pack tracks. I need to put more time in on the sane tracks to improve.
