The 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship shifts to the classic French venue of St Jean d’Angely this weekend, as the Circuit du Pay de Poursay hosts the MXGP of Europe, the third round of the series.
MXGP Championship leader Tim Gajser has won the last three Grands Prix at this hillside circuit, and comes in with a twenty-point margin for Honda HRC over French hero Romain Febvre, who will be looking for a second GP win at this venue in front of his passionate home fans! The Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP leader has his countryman Maxime Renaux just a point behind him for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP, and will be equally as keen to give the packed valley of French fans something to cheer about!
In MX2, reigning World Champion Kay de Wolf leads the series by six points over his Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing teammate Liam Everts, as the pair have shared the first two GP wins between them! French hero Thibault Benistant has won at St Jean in the past, and after a Qualifying Race win in Spain put him back in the title picture, the spectacular Frenchman would dearly love to get “La Marseillaise” played around the hillsides for his fans and Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 team members!
With Tom Guyon making history in front of his native fans by racing a Triumph in the MXGP class for the first time, Mathis Valin racing his first GP on home soil, and Quentin Prugnières always fast around St Jean, the local fans have plenty of excuses to make noise and create an incredible atmosphere around the French countryside!
