Race one: There was some chaos which involved some of the heavy hitters during the start. Valerio Lata had to come from the very back of the pack and Jens Walvoort retired. At the front, it was Jakabs Kubulins who was leading on his JK Yamaha 250cc two stroke machine. He had Noel Zanocz for company but then the Hungarian crashed.
That left Scott Smulders to go for the lead but then Simon Längenfelder who started on the top five gradually started to reel them in. At around the halfway mark, the reigning world champion was able to make a move on Kubulins and then he never looked back. Smulders who is having a very impressive pre-season was able to make a move to finish an impressive second. No doubt Kubulins will be delighted with third place.
Alexis Fueri rode well on his Beta to come home in fourth with Cas Valk rounding out the top five.
