Race One: Ben Mustoe won his first British championship moto by holding off a charging Tommy Searle who returned to action just a month after breaking his back and was immediately back in the pace but it was Mustoe with the win. He is now right in the mix for the title with the other title contenders, Charlie Heyman third and Billy Askew fourth.
Mustoe said: “I’m super happy, all I have had this year is fourths and fifths. To get first is pretty amazing, I am pretty speechless at the minute.”

Race Two: Tommy Searle rode a classy race to take the holeshot and hold off GP men, Oliver and Karssemakers to take a key win for the overall victory and to take the momentum back in the championship. When the pressure rises Tommy Searle can still deliver, underlining why he was a world championship title contender for many years.
Searle said: “A really good race, I knew it was going to come down to the start and I got the start and controlled the race. I’ve been sat on a beach for five weeks, I was a bit off it, so had to take my time throughout the race and build into it. Oliver passed me, I messed the hill up and he had a good line and passed me momentarily and then I managed to shoot back up the inside and took wind out of his sails a little bit. When the two lap board went up, I thought, right, stick a couple of good laps in. I’m really happy I worked hard, even though I said I was sat on a beach for five weeks it was only four days, I mountain biked every day. It’s not easy for me to do what I’ve done to get back here, I’ve been at physio three times a week and kept my fitness up. I’m happy with myself for putting the work in even when it looked like my championship was done. Had it been Preston this week I don’t think I would not have bee able to do this around there. I love it here (Landrake).
“I do (still want it badly) I wanted to beat Ben in the first race, even if in my head I was like it’s a bit out of order if I pass him on the last lap for his first British championship win but I thought I’m going for it anyway, but he won it, congrats to Ben. I turned it around second race, happy days”.
Charlie Heyman rode well to keep the top three in sight but Billy Askew could only manage fifth and didn’t have the pace he needed on the slick track. But it was a lot worse for poor Ben Mustoe who crashed in the whoops while ahead of Askew who was forced to DNF, walking off holding his wrist, in what may be a bitter way to end his championship hopes.
An on-form Glenn McCormick staked his claim for a place on the Irish MXoN team with a cracking ride for ninth between Shaun Simpson’s EMX250 riders, backing up his eleventh in race one to underline his speed in 2025. It has been a great year for the Chambers KTM rider.
