The 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship enjoys a sandy start to the second half of its season with round eleven this weekend at the Zelta Zirgs Motocenter near Kegums, for the MXGP of Latvia!

The MXGP class will continue with its “Veteran vs Teenager” confrontation, as Romain Febvre continues to lead the series from Lucas Coenen, the Belgian kid who is nearly 15 years younger than the determined Frenchman!  However, a wild card may be thrown into the deck, as the return to winning form of Jeffrey Herlings last weekend in Germany, means that “The Bullet” is a genuine contender once more, and never more than at Kegums, where he has won more than anyone else – a massive eight GP wins in total!

The MX2 division saw the Championship leader’s red plate change hands yet again, as Andrea Adamo overtook Simon Laengenfelder at the German’s home GP, but the gap is only three points between them, and reigning Champion Kay de Wolf, the 2023 winner here, will be looking forward to clawing back some points on his favourite terrain! Beware the speed of Sacha Coenen, however, who took his first career GP win here last year and will be out to repeat the feat!
