Ken Roczen on his Arlington performance despite illness

It has been a tough couple of weekends for Ken Roczen who is now 18 points back of Hunter despite riding fantastic all year, after two tough Saturday nights where things out of his control affected his points haul.

After being accidentally knocked off while third in Seattle by Hunter Lawrence and finishing tenth due to know electric start, Roczen then got ill this week and didn’t have the energy at the end of the Arlington main event despite leading the rest of the title contenders for 15 minutes and having a brilliant back and forth battle with Hunter Lawrence for most of the race.

Ken said: “Suffer fest last night in Arlington. I got progressively more ill as the weekend neared. I did everything i could to have a good night and i am happy with the effort that i put in. I barely had like 15 min in me but i would have been out of breath walking up a flight of stairs.

“Anyways, I salvaged what i could and i still believe it was a good night for us. Starts were good, racing was good but i had no extra to tie by any means. I’m gonna get healthy this week and i am looking forward going to Daytona this coming weekend 🤘🏽

“Thanks for all the fans. It is so awesome to race in packed stadiums. Thanks everyone for showing up for us.”

Roczen showed how much of class act he is by congratulating Hunter on his first win on Instagram in Honda’s post celebrating the victory.

Let’s hope Roczen is healthy for Daytona because his riding is good enough to be a title contender and he is still well within reach of that goal despite the back luck over the last two weekends.
