Ken Roczen had previously spoken at the press conference about Larry Brooks being like his second dad and now, on the PulpMX show the Glendale race winner, shared how they found out about Larry Brooks cancer diagnosis and how hard it has been to deal with the situation.

Ken said: “Obviously we have known for a couple weeks here, right? He hasn’t been to a few races. So when we first heard about it, he was so bummed he couldn’t come to the track. It was after San Diego because I was staying in California that week. He was so bummed he couldn’t get to the track. We were like, dude, take care of yourself. Listen to that.

And then the not knowing what’s going on, right? Like at first, because I left in some space too, right? I don’t…what do you do? I don’t want it to be constantly like, ‘Hey, like what’s going on? Everything good?’ You know? But yeah, I wanted to win for him so bad at Anaheim 2, because that’s when we kind of like found out what was going on and whatnot. And it was just a hard hit for the team. You know, you never want to see something like that happen. So no matter if whether he’s there or not, we got everything under control. But yeah, it was just it was a strange time.”
