Julien Beaumer had a huge crash in Q2 at Charlotte and unfortunately it is bad news on the injury front for the young KTM star, who has suffered a broken vertebrae that required surgery.
KTM said: “Julien Beaumer endured a more difficult day at SMX Playoff 1, recording the 11th fastest time in the opening 250SMX qualifying session on his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, before an incident in the second timed session ended his weekend early. The 19-year-old was transported to hospital, where it was confirmed that he sustained a burst fracture of his L3 vertebra and has since undergone surgery to stabilize the injury.”
Beaumer has posted the following on social media: “What’s up guys? I wanted to hop on here and give you guys an update on my health. First things first, I’ve seen a lot of comments that I shouldn’t have been racing this weekend regarding my crash in Budge Creek and that they failed me and whatnot. I was ready to go this weekend. This is non-concussion related. My head is perfectly fine. And yeah, you guys can throw that bullshit out the window.
“Regarding me right now, I had surgery on my lower lumbar. My L3 was a burst fracture and I fractured to my L2 and L4. They put some screws and rods in.I just wanted to give you guys an update on the road recovery and I’ll see you guys soon.”
It has has been a tough couple of weeks for Beaumer after his crash at Budds Creek also caused a red flag due to a head injury. Hopefully he can get healed up and come out swinging again in supercross.
