Words: Press Release

The expected unveiling of the selected riders who will receive support from the association JG Moto Action, z.s. and their partners for the EMX 2T race in Loket, Czech Republic, is here!

At the beginning of the year, the association set itself the goal of raising funds for the entry fee for the EMX 2T race in Loket, for one selected rider. However, the interest in supporting this initiative was so big that the association managed to get funds for entry fees, licenses and other necessities for 5 riders.

Any motocross rider who wants to participate in the race could apply for support. A total of 17 riders from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and abroad signed up. Riders will not only receive financial support, two of them will also receive a 2024 KTM 250 SX two-stroke motorcycle, including spare parts and other accessories thanks to the cooperation with MOTOPROX Racing Team and SP Moto (KTM Prešov), who are an official partners of the initiative.

  1. Andrea Rossi (IT)

For the Italian rider Andrea Rossi, who race since he was 8 years old, this particular race will be the premiere. However, he has enough experience and has a very good chance of placing in the TOP 5. He raced in Loket for the first and last time in the EMX 85 class in 2017, which was canceled due to a tragic accident.

“When I received an offer from JG Moto Action, z.s. to apply for support for the EMX 2T race, which will be held in Loket, I immediately enthusiastically went to my dad to discuss it with him. He wisely decided that first I have to try riding a two-stroke motorcycle and after that we will make a decision. The measured result was worse than what I usually have. However, once we adjusted everything on the borrowed bike to my riding style and my needs, the result was suddenly different and we decided to go for it. I am very much looking forward to the training in the Czech Republic and the race.”

Andrea will arrive to the Czech Republic 14 days before the race so he can get used to the new two-stroke motorcycle. You will be able to see him training on the sand track in Most or in Krásná Lípa, which is very similar in surface to the one in Loket.

  1. Jiří Hendrych (CZE)

Jirka got his first dream motorcycle at the age of five, the first year he rode it at home in the garden. Since he was 7 years old he started with racing. Jirka works in the family carpentry business during work week and regularly participates in MMČR, MMČR juniors and races near home on weekends. Despite the fact that he gets to training only 1-2 times a week, he is placed between 15th and 10th place in the races. His biggest race so far was the 2T European Championship in Loket, where he placed 28th overall.

“It was always my dream to race in Loket. In 2023, I switched to a two-stroke motorcycle and immediately entered the EMX 2T race. In the qualifying race, I finished in 12th place in our group and 25th and 21st place in the races. I definitely want to score points this year!”

  1. Florian Hellrigl (AUT)

In 2022, he unfortunately had a collision with Czech rider Jirka Matějec in the 1st race and finished in ninth place. In 2023, he placed 4th, just one place from the podium. His goal for this year was to get on the podium, where he deservedly belongs. Unfortunately, he recently fell and broke his vertebra while training on his home track in Austria. Luckily no surgery was needed, however the bone will take 6-8 weeks to heal, which is just before the Loket race.

“I don’t have to have a shell or anything like that. It looks like I’m fine, but it hurts and I can’t lift anything heavy and do practically nothing. I believe that in 6 weeks the bone will be fused back and I will be able to start the race. I really like the track in Loket, it is always well prepared.”

If Florian will not be able to start the race, he will still come to support his teammates and take part in the autograph session. So we will definitely see him in Loket.
