The rollercoaster nature of motocross is evident again as Cornelius Tondel, fresh off some great times racing in America and showing his speed Stateside, has been left with a broken ankle following a crash at his MXGP return in Loket.
Tondel said: “Out for the rest of the 2025 season💔 Yesterday I had a successful surgery on my ankle by Doctor Peersman in Antwerp. I can’t thank this whole hospital enough for the good care I received. Now my recovery period started and I will be out for a couple months. Obviously not the news I wanted to share but unfortunately it’s the reality. I’m lucky to have a team that supported me this year through thick and thin and gave me tons of opportunities I could only dream of. Thank you @jwr_honda I will put my full focus on my Recovery to be back on the bike fast enough to get ready for the 2026 season.”
