Kevin Horgmo showed impressive speed at the French Grand Prix, delivering one of his best performances of the season with a second-place finish in the MXGP qualifying race. The Norwegian looked comfortable and confident on the Ernee circuit, and hopes were high heading into Sunday’s action.

In the first moto, Horgmo continued to impress as he battled inside the top ten and pushed for a spot in the top five. Running seventh and looking strong, disaster struck when he suffered a crash that brought his charge to an abrupt end.

Unfortunately, the fall resulted in a dislocated shoulder, ruling Horgmo out of the remainder of the GP. It’s now a waiting game to see how long the injury will sideline him, but fingers are crossed for a swift recovery and return to action.

It was a cruel end to what had been shaping up to be a standout weekend for Horgmo, who had clearly found good form in France.

Horgmo posted the following update on social media:

Hero to zero… Sadly, it ended early for me in France this weekend. After a good qualifying day, I was 7th. place in the first heat – with 5th place right in front – when I dislocated my shoulder. That means I’m out of the French GP.

Incredibly sucks, especially when I felt so good on the bike and had fun riding. Now it’s about resting, recovering and making a good plan ahead. More info to come very soon. Thank you for all of your support!
