Ever since his hard crash at Red Bud, just as he looked on the verge of winning moto one and increasing his points lead, Hunter Lawrence has not been riding like himself and now the Aussie admits it has been a struggle since then to have the energy he needs in the motos.

Lawrence said in the Honda press release: “I’m looking forward to reevaluating after this weekend. I’ve kind of been struggling since RedBud—it just seems like I haven’t been the same since that crash. So we’ll go back to the drawing board and figure a few things out about myself. It’s been two weekends in a row that I haven’t even had one good moto in me, which is extremely uncharacteristic. We’ll take this break to make sure we’re 100% healthy, so we can come out swinging for the last three rounds.”

He elaborated in his Vital MX interview with Lewis Phillips, saying: “I haven’t been the same racer since the Red Bud crash, plain and simple. I don’t know if’s the repercussions of that or some other stuff, we are still working very hard, maybe a little too much during the week. It sucks, I am kind of speechless, it’s not like me, I am normally one of the strongest guy on the track the last 15 minutes. I am willing myself through the motos. Asked if he will get blood tests this week, Hunter said: “Absolutely, we have to.”
