The pain and devastation on his face told the story. Chance Hymas is fearing he has done his ACL just after coming back from the exact same injury.
Hymas was running a comfortable second on the last lap of the second 250 moto but then crossed the line in third and was holding his knee as he did so, and it looks like the worst case scenario of another torn ACL may be coming true for the unlucky Hymas who had just went 1-1 the previous weekend. Motocross can be brutal.
It was an empathetic Jett Lawrence who, having just won the overall in the 450 class, went over to console a clearly devastated Chance Hymas, showing the class of the Australian who recently went through the same thing. He knows what Hymas is going through.
Kellan Brauer caught up with an always honest HRC team manager, Lars Lindstrom who was fearing the worst for Hymas: “Super unfortunate, he was second with half a lap to go and he dabbed his leg, the previous knee that he hurt was his left, this is right. I’ve been through that too, you know something isn’t right. There is something not right, when they did the ACL test, it seemed it was strong but we thought the same thing with Jett at Glendale, you never really know, obviously we are always going to hope for the best. He is going to go see his doctor who did the surgery the last time, who is a really good guy. Hopefully we will have some news soon, if we get lucky it’s a bone bruise, unfortunately we know a lot about rehab, and then we will be going down that road again, we will see.”
Talked to Lars Lindstrom after the race about Chance Hymas and they’re going to get scans on the knee this week but it doesn’t sound like good news already pic.twitter.com/At5ENKk8TI
