Frustrated Herlings on the crash that cost him the Indonesian win

Jeffrey Herlings was inching away from Tim Gajser and Jorge Prado and looked set to go 1-1-1 in Indonesia ten minutes into race two when he went down in the ruts and lost the GP to Prado!

Herlings said: “It was a shame, it should have been a 1-1-1 and I did it myself (mistake). But, I can’t believe why they watered it that much, it was almost like a mud race. Once you get out of the line, it was almost waiting to crash. I crashed by myself and hurt my knee a little bit but I think it will be okay next weekend. 1-1-2 on the weekend in pretty good.”

Herlings has however closed to the gap to championship leader Gajser, and is now 58 points behind the red plate holder and 36 behind Jorge Prado – the 25 points he lost due to a mechanical in the mud while leading earlier in the season is looking costly now!
