Mathis Valin topped the EMX250 free practice session in Frauenfeld, Switzerland.
The French talent was just over half a second faster than Valerio Lata with Ivano van Erp who won in Sweden.
Benjamin Garib put in a fast lap to go fourth fastest over Cas Valk.
