Deegan to Fox and maybe racing A1 on a 450?

Jason Thomas has given some exciting hints that Haiden Deegan might just be on a 450 for the early West coast rounds of Supercross in 2026, wearing Fox kit.

In what was an intriguing WSX press release that didn’t specify what class Deegan would be racing down under, we asked WSX, given the void of information, what class he would be racing but have not had a reply yet – maybe the Deegan’s themselves don’t know!

Speaking the on the Live Motocross podcast JT, who has spent nearly every weekend since last January at a race track on the weekends, said: “He’s got a lot of changes to make. I’m sure the PR is coming with him switching to Fox. That’s all done long since I’ve seen photos of it. That’s all happening. So I’m sure that’ll come out at some point here. As far as like, does he race any West Coast Supercross races? I think there’s a plan in place. You know, the questions will be, how does he feel in December? Because I think it will be pretty easy for them to pivot and do it. They’re going to send a race ready 450 on the truck to California, there’s no doubt in my mind that’s going to get sent. He’ll be practicing, we’ll see how Argentina goes, see if he races Australia, test in November, December on the 250 and the 450. I think they’ll just make a judgment call.

“Like if he’s crazy competitive against Justin Cooper and Cooper Webb and these guys that they know are good enough, right? Like if he’s as good as them or better, I think they take a swing at it because there’s two ways to look at it. One, there’s really nothing to lose. You get your feet wet, you learn the expectation and you kind of see where you’re at. The other side of that coin is there’s a lot to lose because the expectation is so high from the fan base. If you don’t deliver, it’s going to be viewed as a huge letdown. So I don’t know where I kind of come down on that. It really doesn’t matter. All that really matters is where does Brian and Hayden and the team come down on that.”

If the rumours are correct that Deegan will test the waters on a 450 leaving him the possibility of still racing 250 East to win that title for the first time if the 450 doesn’t go well, it really looks like a win/win decision ahead of a full time switch for outdoors, less pressure and a bit more room to fail with a plan B in place.

Say what you want about the Deegan’s but they plan their route to the top carefully, nothing is by chance and it would give Deegan somewhat of a free hit to get his feet wet in 450 supercross.
