Once again, Haiden Deegan dominated everyone in he 250 East/West shootout, quite rightly claiming it was his seventh win in a row and ignored the ridiculous decision to take his last shootout win away from him.
Deegan also clinched his final 250 title in the process to end that phase of his career on top and Deegan has admitted it was beneficial for him to stay on a 250 for Supercross because he wasn’t quite ready for a 450 indoors in 2026.
Deegan said: “Kind of took me a little longer to win a Supercross title, because it let me learn. It kept me in the class long enough to keep learning.I feel like this year, I finally, ticked off a lot of the boxes that I needed, where I feel like if I would have went 450, I didn’t have everything I needed. So, I really think this was a good thing that we, you know, won a title last year. We were able to race this year as well, keep building.”

On what he learnt this year ahead of 450 Supercross next year, Deegan commented: “I feel like one thing that was hindering me was just a lot in the whoops. And I feel like I really just, a lot of early mornings trying to get those dialed, and it’s kind of switched the path.I feel like if you can hit whoops, you can win races. So, I mean, it takes a little more than that, obviously, too. But that does help it a lot.And I feel like I’m just a lot more consistent than them and it’s really helped overall.”
Deegan also gave a rare look into his appreciation for his own achievements and how he has won more than he ever planned top saying: “You know what’s funny is on their YouTube channel, the Degans, it literally shows me like probably five years ago, maybe a little longer than that on our way to Paula. And I was like, I just want to win one title. That won one championship. So, I literally said it like that and now we’re six in and it’s just, it really is a dream come true as a kid that, you know, just win one and now we’re six in.So, it’s awesome.”
But from now things get even more serious, it’s 450 time from Pala onwards and, make no mistake, he wants to win against Jett Lawrence more than anything. If you thought things were entertaining on and off track on a 250, just wait until he’s using every trick in the book to beat Jett Lawrence in what could be the rivalry to watch over the next few years, the duo simply do not like each other.
Part two of Haiden Deegan’s career is about to begin and it could be even more explosive than the first!
