Haiden Deegan has admitted his goal is to beat Jett Lawrence when he goes 450 full.time in May but knows there are 10 other guys he will need to contend with as well! Deegan, unsurprisingly says he believes he can win on the big bike and the doubters only motivate him even more!
Deegan said on the NBC preview show: “I hopped on the 450, and I’m like, wow, I feel way better on a 450 than I do a 250. It was weird.I felt really at home with it. I mean, just these days of riding and training, I’ve been going a whole lot faster than I could on a 250.
Asked by Ricky Carmichael who he wanted to beat, Deegan said: “You guys know who I want to beat (Jett Lawrence), but it’s like you got to get through 10 other guys first. I wholeheartedly think I could win on a 450, I really do. If someone says something like, hey, you ain’t going to go win on a 450, I screenshot it, put it in my phone. I go look at that every time. I just use stuff to motivate me.
But first, Deegan has to hit pause on his 450 ambition and focus on taking care of defending hos 250 West coast title.
