It was a good season for Valerio Lata with the Beddini GasGas team as he clinched the MX2 Italian Championship and won every round.
In the EMX250 series, Lata challenged for the title but end up coming up short as Mathis Valin became champion. Lata did finish runner up in the series and was strong.
Perhaps the highlight of the season for Lata was racing the MX2 World Championship at Maggiora where he ended up on the podium with third overall – a superb day for him in front of his home crowd.
After 14 years racing KTM and more recently GasGas equipment, Lata has confirmed he is on the move for the 2025 season in what will be his rookie season to contest the MX2 World Championship.
The Italian has been heavily linked to the HRC Honda team who have already confirmed they will run two riders to take on the MX2 World Championship in 2025.
Lata posted the following message on social media:
“After 14 years of working together with KTM Official and GasGas Official, and having only ridden this bike, our working relationship ends this season. Thanks for the help and support, but it was time to find a manufacturer that truly believed in me”.
