Confirmed: Trey Cox signs with Sarholz KTM for 2026


South African talent, Trey Cox has a new challenge for the 2026 season as he’ll make the move up to the 250cc machine and he has agreed a deal to join the Sarholz KTM team for the up and coming season.

The main focus will be on the ADAC MX Youngsters Cup but Cox may also contest selected EMX250 championship events as well throughout the course of the season.

The team posted the following statement on social media:

For the 2026 season, the Sarholz KTM are proud to announce that multiple South African champion Trey Cox will be lining up for our team. The 17-year-old is moving up to the 250cc category and will be looking to continue pushing his development forward.

Andre Sarholz:

“With Trey, we have an exciting rider in the team who should be able to compete in his first year in the Youngster Cup without pressure. We want to support his development and help him in the best possible way.” 

Trey Cox:

I’m really excited to be joining the Sarholz KTM Team for the 2026 season. It’s a really big step in my European racing and I’m excited to see how we perform together. Moving into the Youngster Cup is going to be a challenging year, but with the right tools we can make it happen!
