Confirmed: Moritz Ernecker to make EMX125 debut this weekend

This weekend marks an exciting milestone for young Austrian talent Moritz Ernecker, who will make his debut in the prestigious EMX125 Championship. After a successful off-season training program, Ernecker has signed a deal with Sarholz KTM, setting the stage for his first appearance in the competitive series.

He won’t contest all EMX125 rounds but plans on racing a handful to gain experience for the future.

Despite not securing the results he had hoped for last year on the 85cc machine, Ernecker remains determined and ready for the next chapter in his career. His performance in 2024 may not have been what he envisioned, but his growth and commitment are undeniable, and his debut in the EMX125 class will be one to watch.

Ernecker’s journey into the EMX125 is made even more special as he joins his older brother, Max, who is moving up to contest the EMX250 this season. The brothers will now be in the same paddock, a unique experience for the family as they chase their dreams on the European motocross scene.

Reflecting on the journey so far, Ernecker shared his excitement and preparation for the season ahead:

Last year, we got in touch with Andre Sarholz, which ultimately led to the collaboration with Sarholz Racing”, Ernecker told GateDrop.com.

I feel well-prepared for this weekend and will try to gain as much experience as possible,” he continued. “Over the winter, I spent a lot of time training on the 125cc bike and conducted extensive testing with my father, allowing me to fully focus on my riding.

For the season ahead, Ernecker has a clear goal:

The goal for this season is to gain as much experience as possible and, most importantly, to enjoy racing.”

As the new season begins, Ernecker is eager to showcase his talent and dedication in the EMX125 series.

Stay tuned as he hopes to make real progress in what is his first year of racing the 125cc machine.
