Young Dutch talent Jens Walvoort is set to make his return to racing at this weekend’s MXGP of Great Britain at Matterley Basin after spending the past few months on the sidelines.

The KTM BTS rider came into the 2025 season hoping to make a strong impression, but things didn’t go to plan after he suffered an injury early in the year – fracturing his C6 and C7 vertebrae.

Despite attempting to race at Arco di Trento, the pain proved too much, and Walvoort made the wise decision to prioritise his health and focus fully on recovery.

After a patient and careful rehab process, Walvoort has now been back on the bike for just over two weeks. Feeling more comfortable and with positive signs during training, both rider and team have agreed that now is the right time to make a return to the GP scene.

This weekend at Matterley Basin will mark a significant step forward for Walvoort, who will use the opportunity to gain valuable bike time, improve race fitness, and continue building momentum. It’ll also be a welcome sight for the KTM BTS Racing team squad, who return to the paddock alongside their promising young rider.

With the long-term goal of continued development and progress, Walvoort’s return to the MX2 World Championship is an encouraging sign—and one to watch closely in the coming weeks.
