Young Spanish talent David Braceras has been making solid strides in the 2025 MX2 World Championship. Now in his third full season at world level, the 21-year-old has shown encouraging progress after inking a deal with the JM Honda team during the off-season. The move appears to have given Braceras the stability and structure he needed to continue developing at the highest level, and he has delivered flashes of his potential throughout the year.

However, just as things seemed to be clicking into place, Braceras has unfortunately been dealt a blow. The JM Honda rider revealed that he picked up an injury during a training session last Friday which has temporarily halted his racing campaign.

Taking to social media to share the news, Braceras confirmed the nature of the injury:

“I’d like to say I’m ready to race this weekend, but last Friday, in training, I suffered a grade III sprain and fracture of the tibial disc. It’s hard to accept after being in a great moment, but it’s part of our sport. I’m grateful to be in the best hands. Along with Reydes Fisioterapia and Dra. Isabel Guillén, we’re already working day and night to return in record time. My year isn’t over yet; I want to finish the season the way I deserve!”

While there’s currently no confirmed timeline for his return, Braceras has made it clear he’s determined to come back as quickly as possible — and crucially, to finish the season strong. His message reflects both frustration and resilience, which is often required in a sport as physically demanding and unpredictable as motocross.

Before the injury, Braceras had shown improved consistency and was regularly battling for top ten results in a highly stacked MX2 field. His efforts were starting to pay off, and it looked like he was turning a corner in terms of race craft and confidence. The JM Honda team had also been pleased with his growth, and there was hope he could continue to build as the season progressed.

While the timing of the injury is unfortunate, Braceras remains upbeat and focused on recovery. With the right support and rehabilitation, he’s optimistic about making it back before the end of the 2025 campaign and continuing to show what he’s capable of.
