On the back of having all the Yamaha and Honda riders decked out in Fox in the 90s, after having Rick Johnson in the 80s, it was yet another glory days era for Fox Racing when they sponsored the two biggest names in the world in the 2000s, Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart – but it cost them a lot of money to do it!
Speaking to Jase McAlpine, Pete Fox said: “A million bucks each a year. How do you do that? How do you do that as a 20 million dollar company or a 50 million dollar company? How do you do that? You can’t.
“That’s a lot of money to both those guys. And I feel like that, what we did, we were just trying to promote, you know, moto and Fox and all that.”
