The 2025 Motul British Championship drew to a dramatic close this past weekend at the historic Lyng circuit in Norfolk, where the Worx Scaffolding Total Triumph squad delivered one of their finest outings of the season. With near-perfect conditions and a packed crowd lining the fences, the stage was set for a thrilling showdown in Round 8 — and the team rose to the occasion.
Qualifying:
Calum Mitchell wasted no time asserting himself, setting the tone with a blistering early lap that placed him just half a second behind pace-setter Joe Brookes. His relentless charge held strong for the full 20 minutes, securing P2 and injecting confidence into the camp. Meanwhile, young Irish prospect Lennox Dickinson thrived on the sandy surface, logging his best qualifying result of the season with a strong P12 — narrowly missing the top ten by a single second. Spirits were high as the team rolled into Race 1.
Race 1 – Mitchell’s Moment
Launching from a mid-gate pick, Mitchell exploded off the line to grab the holeshot, instantly energising the home crowd. From there he was untouchable. Feeding off the roar of local supporters, Mitchell executed a flawless ride — extending his lead to two seconds on the opening lap and never looking back. He crossed the finish line to a wave of emotion, sealing a commanding victory ahead of GP regular Oliver by seven seconds.
Race 1 – Dickinson Battles Through
Fresh from being shortlisted for the Irish MXoN squad ahead of Ironman (USA), Dickinson showed grit and determination. Despite a tough start that left him 28th after lap one, he clawed his way into the points by mid-race. A pair of crashes set him back, but his resilience never wavered. He regrouped to salvage P15 — proof of his fighting spirit and growing consistency on the British stage.
Race 2 – A Classic Shootout
Mitchell once again fired out of the gate with another holeshot, immediately embroiled in a duel with Comber and Oliver. After briefly slipping to second, he struck back with a decisive pass to reclaim the lead. For the next three laps, the crowd was treated to a wheel-to-wheel battle between Mitchell and Oliver — trading lines, testing each other’s limits. Oliver edged ahead on lap four, but Mitchell never let him out of sight. When the dust settled, Mitchell crossed the line on joint points with Oliver, narrowly missing the overall win on countback. It was a heroic ride and one of the standout performances of the weekend.
Race 2 – Dickinson Cracks the Top 10
Determined to cap his season on a high, Dickinson got away cleanly inside the top ten. Settling into his rhythm, he carved through rivals with mature race craft, moving up to P8 mid-moto. Holding his own, Dickinson displayed both pace and poise, eventually securing an impressive ninth-place finish — and 11th overall on the day.
Team Reflections
For Worx Scaffolding Total Triumph, Lyng marked more than just the season finale — it was a statement. Mitchell’s win and joint-points runner-up finish confirmed his place among the elite, while Dickinson’s breakthrough top-ten underlined his rising promise. The Oakleaf Motorsport-run, family-based team now sets its sights on bigger goals, determined to build on this momentum and take their valued partners with them on the next stage of the journey.
