RUMOUR: Glenn Coldenhoff gets Dutch MXoN call up?

Glenn Coldenhoff could be set to make his return to the Motocross des Nations this year as we believe he has received a call-up to represent the Netherlands at the 2026 event in Ernée, France.

Following the news that Kay de Wolf will miss the remainder of the season due to injury, and therefore the MXoN, it has been relatively quiet regarding who would replace the Nestaan Husqvarna rider in the Dutch line-up.

However, we now understand that Coldenhoff, who was initially left out of the team, has received the call-up to join Jeffrey Herlings and Roan van de Moosdijk.

Coldenhoff set for the MX2 class?

According to our information, Coldenhoff is expected to race a Yamaha 250cc machine in the MX2 class for the Netherlands, potentially with factory support.

The reported change would see Roan van de Moosdijk compete the event on his 450cc Kosak machine, which he has raced throughout the season – instead of dropping down to the 250cc machine. He is expected to line up in the MX1 class, while Jeffrey Herlings would remain in the Open class.

If confirmed, the line-up would still be a strong one for the Dutch that has the potential to at least get on the podium.

Brazilian champion Coldenhoff to get another opportunity?

A return to the Motocross des Nations would be a welcome opportunity for Coldenhoff, particularly after his recent success in Brazil, where he secured the Brazilian MX1 Championship.

The Yamaha rider also suffered disappointment at Ironman at the 2025 MXoN after picking up an injury, but he will now be motivated to put on a strong showing in Ernée if the reported call-up is confirmed.

Coldenhoff has a wealth of MXoN experience and could bring valuable knowledge to a Dutch team aiming to challenge at one of motocross’s biggest events.

KNMV yet to confirm

At the time of writing, the reported change has not been officially confirmed by the KNMV.

The Netherlands’ final team line-up remains subject to official confirmation, and we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

The 2026 Motocross des Nations will take place in Ernée, France, from October 2–4.
