Eli Tomac has opened up on just how scary his Pala crash was with the American legend admitting he feared the worst and that he had broken his neck.
Speaking to Swapmoto, Eli said: “It was scary and when I first hit the ground and then kind of got a sense of things that I actually did think I broke or I thought I broke my neck for how it felt and it was just that I think they call like the SCM, one of your big neck muscles and I partially tore that. So that was like the burning sensation that I had so I was freaked out from that burn and that feeling so I stayed there. Of course I had all my feeling but I still didn’t want to move. I just didn’t know what was going on and I was in a lot of pain. So it was a heavy crash man, it was scary.”
On if the injury made him question coming back Eli admitted: “I’ve had some heavy hits, so mentally it hasn’t been been great for me but I also go big picture and I’m like look this is what we sign up for, things can happen and yeah the plan of now is to be Supercross only for 27.”
