Confirmed: Tristan Purdon signs with SevenSeven2 Ride Kawasaki

After recently parting ways with Lexa MX by mutual consent, many wondered what the next move would be for South African rider Tristan Purdon. Thankfully he hasn’t had to wait long to secure a new opportunity in the MXGB paddock.

It has now been officially confirmed that SevenSeven2 Ride Kawasaki have signed Purdon for the remainder of the 2026 season. The deal sees the South African join the official Team Green Kawasaki outfit as they strengthen their MX1 line-up for the rest of the campaign.

The move means Purdon will switch machinery once again, with the experienced rider now set to adapt to Kawasaki equipment. His debut with the team is scheduled to take place this weekend at Landrake, where the next round of the British Championship will be held on Sunday.

Purdon will line up alongside Charlie Cole in MX1 and Joel Rizzi in MX2 under the SevenSeven2 Ride Kawasaki awning for the rest of the season.

Despite the late switch, there’s no doubting Purdon’s ability and experience at the highest level of British motocross. Once he settles into his new surroundings and becomes comfortable on the Kawasaki, expect him to be fighting towards the sharp end and reminding everyone exactly what he’s capable of.

Tristan Purdon:

“It’s definitely not an ideal situation switching teams’ mid-season and just a week before the British, but sometimes that’s how things go and you just have to get on with the job. I’m very grateful to SevenSeven2 Ride Kawasaki for bringing me in on such short notice. Craig and Chad have done everything possible to get me ready to race, and I can’t thank them enough for the effort they’ve put in. I’m looking forward to working with everyone in the team, along with Kawasaki UK, and seeing what we can achieve together”.
