Jett Lawrence was on the NBC Supercross broadcast last night and gave more insight into his injury recovery from a broken ankle – and his thoughts on Deegan moving up! It does, however, look like Jett is still in a bit of a race to be fit for round one of the outdoors and is only tentatively back on the bike now.

His injury recovery
We are doing better, it is a slow process, it hasn’t been as easy as the ACL for sure. We are getting there, we just starting riding a little bit on flat which has been helping alot with the vibration from the bike, it’s broken up the scar tissue in it that hands can’t really get too.
It’s a slow process, It’s pissing me off! I just want to get back to normal and I am missing racing a lot but we are getting back, slowly, bit by bit. I would say yes (to being ready for outdoors), a lot of the injuries I am having are new injuries, so I don’t have any experience. I am hoping it’s this (being back for outdoors) but you never know. A talus bone doesn’t get a lot of blood flow so it is a slow process, we are just taking it week by week.
On Deegan
I’m excited. You know, I think any new challenge (Deegan) for me adds a little bit of extra motivation and makes me want to be better. Eli is looking great on the KTM. My brother Hunter—he’s looking even better than last year, Prado is on a KTM, he’s used to that from Europe, and outdoors suits him, so he’ll be good.
Chase—he can be faster any time he wants, you know? So there are a lot of guys I not only have to be careful of, but also make sure I execute against if I want to beat them. And they’re thinking the same thing, so it’ll be exciting. I think it’s going to be really exciting for the sport.
There’s always someone new coming up. People love a new kid who’s doing well in 250s, and they always want to see how they stack up against the 450s. So I’m excited. I love outdoors—I feel like I’m better outdoors. It’s not as restricting.
I’m just praying and hoping that I’m at 100%, because if I am by the time we get going, I know I’ve got a good chance. I believe in what I can do, and I think it’ll be a fun, fun summer.”-
