Jeffrey Herlings had a huge crash in the first turn of the MXGP qualifier in Spain as the pole setter washed out in the sand and took MXGP debutant, Kay de Wolf, with him!
Herlings came from on the deck to 11th with De Wolf 12th but the crash cost Herlings the championship lead as Coenen dominated the race with Vialle second and now the championship leader!
