Giacomo Gariboldi on Argentinian MXGP success for Honda

For Giacomo Gariboldi, things could not have went any better at the opening MXGP event in Argentina with his all new GP team of Herlings and Vialle winning every moto over the weekend including a 1-2 finish in the opening moto on Sunday.

Five time world champion, Herlings, took his 113th GP win with a 1-1 and two-time MX2 and East Coast 250 champ, Vialle, was third overall with a 2-4 but also took the win in Saturday’s qualifying race opening a lot of eyes with how quickly he had adapted to the 450 Honda and back to MXGP!

Gariboldi said on IG: “We decided to change everything this year and have a fresh start that would allow us to return to winning world championships. We chose two absolute champions for this new challenge, and yesterday’s double podium and double red plate in Argentina confirmed that we weren’t wrong; champions don’t make mistakes when the moment counts. Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the past few months with beautiful messages and also to those few who criticized our decisions, I think they’ll have changed their minds as of yesterday! See you in Spain!”
