Official: Tristan Purdon signs with Lexa MX for 2026

South African talent, Tristan Purdon is set for a fresh chapter in 2026 after officially signing with Lexa  MX for the upcoming season.

Purdon has been a consistent front-runner in the British Championship ever since making the full-time move to the UK back in 2023. Since making the move, he has established himself towards the sharp end up of MX1 British series. He has spent time with Gabriel SS24 KTM before switching to SC Sportshomes Husqvarna. Now, a new challenge awaits as he lines up under the Lexa MX awning that will see him make the switch to Honda.

The team, who previously had Josh Gilbert and John Adamson on board, have opted for a new direction heading into 2026. Their full focus will centre around Purdon as they aim to make a strong impact in the premier class.

For the 2026 campaign, Purdon will concentrate on the MX1 British Championship as well as the Scottish Championship. There is also the possibility that he could appear at a few rounds of the MXGP World Championship as a wildcard entry. The most likely rounds being the British and South African rounds.

Speaking about the new deal, Purdon told GateDrop.com:

I’m really excited to be joining Lexa MX. I’ve been on the bike for a few weeks now and I’m loving it. The new setup feels great and I’m looking forward to the season ahead with the team. It’s been a tough road coming back from injury, but I’m finally starting to feel like myself again on the bike. That’s a big win in itself.

A huge thanks to Kris for giving me the opportunity to keep chasing this dream. I’m also looking forward to working closely with Stuart and dialling everything in for the year ahead. Of course, a massive thank you to everyone who continues to support me, especially my private sponsors who look after me so well. I’m grateful for all of you. Let’s get things rolling for the 2026 season.

With renewed confidence after injury setbacks and a team fully committed behind him, 2026 presents a significant opportunity for Purdon to firmly reassert himself at the sharp end of British motocross.
