Phoenix Tools Fantic Racing have officially confirmed their rider line-up for the 2026 season, with John Adamson joining the team in what marks an exciting new chapter in his career.

The Scottish rider spent the 2025 campaign under the Lexa MX awning, racing selected MXGP World Championship rounds while also contesting the British Championship. He ended the year on a high, producing an impressive showing at the final round in Lyng.

For 2026, Adamson will make the switch to Phoenix Tools Fantic Racing where he will focus on the Motul British Championship. Not only does this move see him change teams, but he will also take on a new challenge – lining up in the MX2 class on-board a 250cc two-stroke machine.

The signing makes Adamson the fourth rider under the Phoenix Tools Fantic Racing structure, as the team also confirmed that Carlton Husband, Josh Vail and Drew Piggford will remain with the squad for next season, creating a strong and well-rounded four-rider line-up.

Speaking about the move, Adamson told us:

“I am excited to get on the two-stroke. It has been a dream of my dad and myself since I started back in 2018. I always wanted to race the 250cc two-stroke in MX2. I am getting a shot at it now and hopefully I can make Barry and the whole team proud, and hopefully myself proud as well. It is exciting times ahead and something that is close to my heart so it should give me that extra gear.”

The team announced the news via their official social media channels, stating:

“Phoenix Tools Fantic Racing are super excited to announce we have signed John Adamson on the team for the 2026 season. John will be racing in the MX2 class in the Motul British Championship. John will join his teammates Carlton Husband, Josh Vail and Drew Piggford for a strong 4 rider line-up for next season.”
