Motorcycle theft is no stranger in Italy, but even so, nobody expects thieves to go after two high-profile racing bikes right after the world’s biggest motorcycle show. Yet, that’s exactly what happened after EICMA 2024 — and the whole team at AFAM is shocked and outraged.
The two stolen bikes weren’t just any motorcycles; they belonged to 2024 WMX World Champion Lotte Van Drunen and the Honda Motoblouz Racing Team. These bikes were set to showcase the strength and performance of AFAM products to the global motorcycle community attending the show. The two bikes were taken not from the show floor but from the parking area afterward — suggesting the thieves followed us, waiting for the right moment to strike. The brazen theft is a significant blow, not only to AFAM but to the athletes and teams dedicated to excellence in motorsports.
