In the first sprint race, Tom Vialle was looking comfortable at the front after getting the holeshot and getting a comfortable gap at the front. However, with three laps to go he crashed over the whoops – it was a pretty big one! That allowed Jo Shimoda to get to the front and take the first race win on his HRC Honda. Calvin Fonvieille was riding well to come home in third ahead of Anthony Boudon.

Despite having a bad gate pick for sprint two due to his first moto crash, Vialle nailed the holeshot from the outside to lead on the first lap. Fonvieille again got a good start and was second but it didn’t take long for Shimoda to make a move on the French rider. Shimoda then put pressure on Vialle for the win but the KTM rider held on. Fonvieille also came under pressure from Bourdon for third but was able to hold on.

In the main event, Vialle got the holeshot but had Shimoda for company – there wasn’t much in it between the pair. It was tight but then with a couple of minutes to go, Shimoda lost the front and went down gifting the win to Vialle. Bourdon had a strong ride for third – he is leading the overall after the first night of racing! Boisrame had a superb ride for third holding off Desprey.
