Wilson Todd heads to DRT Kawasaki
Youthsteam confirmed in their provisional OAT (Officially Approved Teams) list that Wilson Todd will be racing the MX2 World Championship for DRT Kawasaki next year.
Todd also confirmed the deal on social media. “Blessed for the opportunity to race the @mxgp for @dixonracingteam and @kawasakimotors next year. Couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to give me direction and support! Can’t wait to get started”.
Todd will join a host of Aussie’s in the GP paddock for 2020 including – Jed Beaton, Nathan Crawford and Bailey Malkiewicz who will all race the MX2 World Championship. Fellow Aussie, Mitch Evans makes the jump up to the MXGP World Championship with HRC Honda.
With regards to DRT Kawasaki, they were expected to sign up an MXGP rider for 2020 but after the deal fell through for Max Anstie, the team have now decided to fully focus on Wilson Todd for the season ahead.
Darian Sanayei who’s been with the DRT Kawasaki ages out of the MX2 World Championship and is expected to be racing in America next year.
Courtney Duncan will also stay with the team to contest the WMX series for the year ahead – she will be hoping to make it two world titles in a row.
