Marvin Musquin had a superb year last season as well as the perfect off-season, so is 2018 going to be Marvin’s time?

Always a confidence rider, Musquin, when he knows he can win, usually performs.

Once he realised he could win in the MX2 world championship, Musquin won two titles, he has won a 250 supercross title and was a mechanical away from wining the 250 outdoor title in the USA, once he got back to form after a knee injury.

Since moving up to the 450 class, it seemed the polite and humble Frenchman was always in the shadow of Ryan Dungey in the Red Bull KTM team until last summer, but in his absence Musquin flourished and was able to ride to his true potential. Only a knee injury and a mechanical arguably prevented Musquin from really challenging Tomac and even beating him for the outdoor title.

Now comes the main championship in the States, supercross. This was he reason Musquin moved to the USA, he loves racing indoors and his technical style is perfectly suited the the technical sport.

2018 is his best chance for the title, he knows it, and he is riding like now is his time. It won’t be easy but at 28 years old Musquin has paid his dues, he is now the team leader at Red Bull KTM which, as the 2017 outdoor season showed, suits him and with Aldon Baker in his corner, everything is in place for Musquin to win.

Now he just has to deliver and he will become the first Frenchman to win a supercross title since the great JMB back in 1991. What an achievement that would be for one of the nicest guys in the sport.
