Will he or won’t he? James Stewart to return to supercross & race Anaheim?
James Stewart has been quoted in an obscure motorcycling website, automototime.com, saying he will race the first three supercross races of the 2018 season.
Stewart, who was recently pictured riding a Honda in his recent ride day, still had a bit of work to do to be race ready, according to sources at the event.
But there are no motocross media in the US or anywhere else for that matter running with the story over the last few days, which may mean the story is a potential red herring – despite the quotes.
The unsourced quotes in the article from Stewart said:
“I’m happy to announce that I will ride the first three races of AMA Supercross season. I’m not ready 100 per cent but I will give my best for the fans to enjoy. After the first three races I will decide will I race rest of the season. See you all at Anaheim 1.”
But if Stewart was riding you would expect Feld, the promotors of the supercross series to go overtime on their promotion of the opening rounds with his name.
It remains to be seen whether these quotes were an early scoop or just bit of fake news – but there is not doubt it would be great to see Stewart back behind the gate at Anahaim as he certainly adds excitement to the sport!
