At the second time of the asking the British championship will finally begin this weekend at Culham after round one at Lyng was postponed.

However the weather isn’t looking ideal either for more this weekend with more cold temperatures, rain and maybe even snow forecast.

But it won’t dampen the enthusiasm of the riders with both classes packed with talent and the leading contenders all desperate to win the title. Tommy Searle will miss round one but Graeme Irwin will be chomping at the bit to defend his title and after scoring points in GPs in the first three rounds will be race ready. Evegeny Bobryshev returns to the series and like Irwin has three rounds of MXGP behind him.

But the British regulars will be strong, Jake Nicholls is with Buildbase Honda and has been doing a lot of riding in the winter including a couple of races over the last month and no doubt will be one of the title favourites. Elliott Banks-Browne falls into the same category and can never be counted out especially when he is on his best form, to name just a couple before you add in Brad Anderson, Gert Krestinov, Mickey Eccles and the rest.

In MX2 Darian Sanayei looks like he might be doing all the rounds which might just vault him into title favourite alongside the also on-form Conrad Mewse and Martin Barr. But with Mel Pocock and Josiah Natzke and more also expected to be right there the racing should be intense for the leading positions all season long!

The Dutch Masters of Motocross resumes this weekend as well and once again will include some to GP riders like Jeffrey Herlings, Shaun Simpson, Max Anstie, Romain, Romain Febvre, Glenn Coldenhoff and more in MX1.

In MX2 there are also some stellar names such as Calvin Vlaanderen, Jed Beaton, Vsevolod Brylyakov, Davy Pootjes, Jago Geerts plus Brits, Ben Watson, Steven Clarke and Lewis Hall.

So, despite no MXGP or Supercross there is still a lot to keep an eye on this weekend!
