Webb: I need to be better!
Cooper Webb says he needs to be better following a sixth place overall at Hangtown. The supercross champ didn’t have the pace of the leaders at round two of the US Nationals at Pala, finishing 50 seconds behind Tomac in the second moto.
Webb commented: “I didn’t the best starts today and just struggled to work my way to the front. I feel like I rode consistently but not at the pace I needed to be at. I’m looking forward to getting back to Florida and getting back into the routine of things this week so we can come out swinging at Thunder Valley.”
Then added on social media: “Not the greatest day at Pala yesterday with a 6th OA. Bottom line is I need to be better! Back to Florida to get to work.”
Meanwhile Marvin Musquin rebounded from a tough first round thanks to a crash in practice to take second overall and fight for the moto win.
“Coming from Hangtown, I had a rough week with only a little bit of riding on Thursday and Friday so I didn’t have much expectation,” said the Frenchman. “I just wanted to get back to my full potential and I feel like today I was back to myself. I’m glad to be back on the podium with second overall and happy with my riding.”
