Video: Stefan Everts on racing US supercross in 1992
Some may not know or remember, but Stefan Everts was a very good supercross rider in his teenage years and raced the opening rounds of the 1992 US supercross series on a 250 at 18 years old – and he was fast!
The Belgian, as he explained to us, had a far from the ideal preparation going into the season but he did get a top ten and had top five speed – racing supercross in America was initially a big goal of his: ” I had good skills on supercross and I had a lot of interest,” said Everts who grew up a big fan of Johnny O’Mara. “Actually in my early days I had in mind to go to the US and ride supercross, that was my ultimate dream at that stage. When I started racing GPs then, the supercross scene in Europe was at it’s best.”
