Off-road riding can be challenging. Not every motorcycle rider feels at ease in the dirt. Enduro is even more difficult when you only have one leg because of an amputation.
Amputees who ride enduro or motocross with an artificial prosthetic are rare but not exceptional. But without an artificial prosthesis? “Hardly possible,” we hear you think. Yet it is precisely what Swede Joacim Boive wants to do Boive drives a KTM 1290R Super Duke (not exactly a motorcycle to tackle without gloves) on the street and on the track. His next challenge?
Participating in the Stängebroslaget, a three-day enduro event in Linköping, at the beginning of July. Since this race starts with a mass start (think Weston beach race or Enduropale du Touquet), a solid riding technique is crucial. KTM Scandinavia lent Joacim a 450 EXC-F to hone his skills.
