Video: Herlings – I’m starting to love supercross!

Jeffrey Herlings has admitted he is, “starting to love supercross,” after practicing on a couple of tracks to get ready for the SMX riders’ cup this weekend.
The Dutchman was put off supercross after testing the waters in California during the off-season as a 16 year-old but five years on with a bit more wisdom – and a 450, the three-time world motocross champion is clearly more at home on the narrow, jump infested circuits than he used to be.
Herlings has just signed a new deal with KTM to race MXGP and likes being based in Holland, so it is unlikely he will race supercross in the USA full-time, but maybe events like the Monster Cup or even doing a couple of early US supercross races in January might now interest the Dutchman – even if KTM might find it all too risky for their MXGP investment!
Whether he can beat supercross champ Dungey on Saturday night remains to be seen but it looks like Herlings, who is known as one of the hardest workers in the sport, is doing as much prep as he can for the event, even if the tracks might not be as impressive as Dungey rides on at the KTM test track in California or the Baker’s factory in Florida!
