Twenty GP’s in 2017!
Talking with MXLarge, Giuseppe Luongo has confirmed that there will be twenty rounds of the MXGP championship next year! The season will start with four oversea GP’s which only leaves one oversea GP left – that will be in America towards the end of the season.
With a total of five oversea GP’s that means there will be fifteen rounds of the series in Europe which is the perfect balance. It means riders that don’t travel to the oversea GP’s will still get fifteen rounds to tackle the world championship, that is enough to try and earn a full time ride in 2018!
The last round of the championship will also be held in Europe – thought to be France. This is another improvement as I feel it’s important for the series to finish in Europe in front of thousands of fans, hopefully the championships go down to the wire.
The official calendar is expected to be released next week but it sounds like a brilliant schedule, better than ever with plenty of racing all around the world.
