Tomac – what happened?!

Eli Tomac looked set to take some points off Cooper Webb to give himself a slightly better shot at the title going into Vegas but, almost unbelievably, two crashes in the exact same spot have all but ended Tomac’s title chances baring a miracle in Vegas with Webb 23 points ahead.

“I had a chuckle about it because I did exactly the same thing twice – I mean how do you even do that?!” Offered a reflective Tomac. “I was leaning too far right and just cross-rutted and went into the same tuff-block, same tip-over it was like a replay! I could have maybe got away with one of the those but the second one really did me in, so frustrating but held on to third.”

On battling aggressive for title but not going over the line and cleaning Webb out Tomac said: “At the end of the day you do what’s right and have respect, we are both in totally different positions, it’s not a total bowling ball match out there, just race hard. Every situation is so different and it’s so tough in the moment, it’s really hard to say what’s right.”
