Tomac on his Millville win – I had plenty of motivation!
Eli Tomac admitted that losing the points lead was a big motivating factor in winning both motos at Millville, including a brilliant late-race charge on Marvin Musquin in race two.
The Kawasaki man also admitted that he really enjoys the track at Millville with the soil similar to the conditions he practices in back in Colorado but acknowledged he was careful not to let the motivation from Red Bud charge him up too much.
Tomac said: “ I had plenty of motivation from Red Bud, although you don’t want to get too caught up in that stuff but it definitely wasn’t an easy pill to swallow to lose the (points) lead like we did. I was just fired up all day.
“It’s tough you can just sit there and spin yourself out if you think too much, I did my thing and that was it. I guess we were in a fortunate position that we could afford to lose that many points.”
This weekend the series goes to Washoughal, a track that suits Musquin, but with Tomac bang in form he won’t want the Frenchman getting anymore sniffs at the points lead.
